Satsar is a picturesque lake located on the periphery of
Sonamarg, in
Srinagar District of
Jammu and Kashmir. The lake, surrounded by tress and alpine flowers, is situated at an altitude of about 3,600 m above sea level.
Satsar Lake is one of the high altitude lakes of Kashmir which lies in the laps of Himalayas. For trekking enthusiasts, Satsar Lake can be reached by an adventurous trial from Sonamarg. The Satsar Pass provides a good view of the lake.
Vishansar, Krishnasar, Gadsar and Gangabal are other nearby lakes.
