Red Jungle Fowl (Gallus gallus) is the ancestor of the domestic chicken, commonly found in southern Asia, India, and some of the IndoMalayan islands. It has a purplish-red and orange back, while the under-surface, wings and tail are greenish-black tinged with yellow.
Red Jungle Fowl can be seen in the Surinsar Mansar Wildlife Sanctuary, Jammu and Kashmir.
