Pulwama, the administrative headquarters of
Pulwama District, is a pretty town situated 31 km south of
Srinagar in
Jammu and Kashmir.
Its congenial climate, the innumerable springs and waterfalls marking its topography and the overall scenic splendor makes the town a much sought after tourist destination. Pulwama is also renowned for its saffron and fruits.
Places of tourist interest in and around Pulwama include Asar Sharief Pinjoora (12 km), Payer Temple, Aharbal fall, Kaunsarnag and Kungwattan.
