Penzella Pass lies on the
Zanskar Range at an altitude of about 4,200 m from the sea level. It divides the
Zanskar valley and the Suru Valley. From there one can have spectacular views of the surrounding ranges. There are two springs of greenish water at the upper region of the pass. Camping grounds are also visible on the other side of the pass. At the edge of the pass lies the
Penzella glacier.
The pass is open from May to September.
It remains closed for the rest of the year due to heavy snowfall.
