Nyoma is a block bordering India and China in
Leh District. It is located at an altitude of about 14,000 ft from the sea level. The
Indus River divides the block diagonally into two parts.
Nyoma is bounded by China in the northern and eastern parts, the state of Himachal Pradesh in the south and Leh in its east. The people depend entirely on livestock, especially sheep and goats. They are known by the name Changpas. The main crop of the place is barley. Snow-capped tall mountains make Nyoma a choice destination. Chanthang Plateau is a nearby attraction. Pangong Tso and Tso Morari Lake are the lakes on the Nyoma subdivision.
Nyoma can be approached from Leh.
