Namika La is a beautiful village on the way to
Kargil from
Leh. Located at a height of about 3270 m above sea level, the presence of numerous apricot trees, willows and poplars makes Namika La an ideal place for the tourists.
Namik La means the 'Pillar in the sky'. It is so called because of the jagged pinnacle of rock that looms above it to the south. A drive through the Namika La pass offers an extraordinary range of scenery.
