Sadhna Pass, also known as Nastachun (meaning, 'broken nose or cut nose’,) is a pictorial place, located in the lap of
Shamsbari Mountain, in
Kupwara District of
Jammu and Kashmir. Perched at a height of 3131 m, this vehicular road links
Karnah with
Kupwara.
History says that, Maharaja Pratap Singh installed a check-post here to protect his domain from invasion and loot of Bomba Rajas of Karnah. Ahead of 1947, Sadhna Pass was an easy and shortest approach for the populace of the district for going to Muzaferabad.
The trip to Karnah through the zigzag roads of this pass is fantastic and soothing. Sadhna Pass remains closed December to April due to snow. On the way the signs of old legendary blind and deaf fairies can be seen.
