Haihom Drung Pass is located 10 km north of
Kupwara in
Jammu and Kashmir. History says that it was an important pass leading to the Sharda Teerth during
Akbar’s period.
Kalhana, in his Rajatarangini, said that Raja Boj was waited in this pass with his army for Silhans son. According to Thakur Icher Chand, translator of Rajatarangini, there are gold mines on the north sides of the check post of this pass. Hence it is also known as Suna Drung (Golden Pass).
