Kishtwar High Altitude National Park in
Doda District of
Jammu and Kashmir is noted for the variations in topography and vegetation.
It spreads over 400 sq km and supports musk deer, hangul, langur, leopard and Himalayan black and brown bear. Bird species include Himalayan jungle crow, griffon vulture, bearded vulture, golden oriole, paradise flycatcher, white cheeked bulbul and Indian mynah.
September to March is ideal to visit the mammals and March to May is ideal for visiting the birds.
Nearest town is Kishtwar. The nearest railhead is Jammu Tawi Railway Station.
