Khibar is a picturesque place in
Kargil District of
Jammu and Kashmir. It is a little south-west of
Kargil and is about 11 km from
Dalunang.
Perched at an altitude of 9,616 ft above the sea level, the place, with its many hiking trails, has long been a haven for trekkers and climbers. Tasgam (2 km) is to the west, Kha Kharbu (9 km) to the north,
Kunore (13 km) to the east and
Pharona (9 km) to the south.
Khibar is accessible on the Kargil – Srinagar road. Regular buses connect Khibar with Kargil, Sankoo and Panikhar. The nearest railway station is at Jammu (225 km) and the airport is at Srinagar (131 km).
