Lord Ram

An incarnation of Lord Vishnu, Lord Ram (Ramachandra) is one among the pre-eminent Gods of the Hindus. Venerated as an ideal man, he is the hero of the epic Ramayana. His consort Sita, brother Lakshman and devotee Lord Hanuman also have prominent places in the Hindu pantheon. Ram, born in the prehistoric Raghuvamsa dynasty, is usually pictured as holding a bow and arrow, indicating his readiness to destroy evils.

Among the numerous Hindu saints who have famously worshipped Ram in modern times, Tulsidas is outstanding.
