Himalayan Snowcock (Tetraogallus himalayensis) is a large and spectacular bird. Its partridge is fully gray, face and throat white with a brown band below eye extending on to neck forming a collar. The upper breast is with black streaks. Females of the species lack the tarsal spurs and have more buff on face. Diet consists of roots, tubers, green plants, berries and seeds.
The bird can be seen in the Govind National Park, Uttaranchal.
