Chamba Monastery is located in the village of Hundur, 7 km north of Diskit in
Leh District. It is an ancient monastery holding a three-storied statue of
Maitreya Buddha. There is another statue of Maitreya Buddha outside the monastery, along with other Buddhas carved on the rock.
Another feature of the place is the ruined palace called Dechhen Tsemo and two other old temples called Lakhang Karpo and Lakhang Marpo. There is also the royal house of Hundar Lonpo.
Chamba Monastery can be accessed from Diskit by road. The nearest airport is Leh Airport.
