Bumazuv caves are an important group of artificial caves of
Jammu and Kashmir. They are built in a special architectural way. One among them possesses an extra value with its artistic work. This cave, carved out of a large mass of limestone cliffs, offers a scenic view of the lower section of the
Lidder valley. The front of a gateway is built of stone in lime with a single trefoil-arched doorway, surmounted by a pediment, and sidewalls.
There is a small cave temple in the interior portion of the cave. Other attractions are the two ancient temples which are converted to Muslim ziarats. One of the shrines is named as Ziarat of Baba Bamdin Sahib.
By road, Bumazuv Caves can be reached from Mattan (about a mile away).
Bumazuv is only a few km away from Anantnag on the Pahalgam road. The nearest railway station is at Jammu.
