Peer Khoh Temple

Peer Khoh Temple, also known as Jamawant Cave, is a cave shrine of Lord Shiva, situated on the circular road above Tawi River, just 3.5 km north-east of Jammu. The temple enshrines a swayambhu Shivling.

The temple, located amid igneous rocks and acacia jungle, is believed to be the oldest historic shrine in the Shivalik region.

It is said that this cave gives way to other underground caves and shrines, which are located outside India.

A large festival held on the occasion of Shivaratri is a major draw. Aap Shambu Temple, Ranbireshwar Temple and Panjbakhtar Temple are nearby pilgrim places.
