Ali Kadal




Ali Kadal is the fifth bridge in Srinagar over the river Jhelum. It is named after the son of Zain-ul-Abidin, the famous Kashmiri ruler.

This wooden bridge is standing with projecting horizontal beam fixed at only one end. Ali Kadal Bridge was constructed by Sultan Ali Shah in the year 1415. Now, there is a new bridge constructed near to the old wooden bridge of the same name.

The tomb of Zain-ul-Abidin is situated between the Zaina Kadal and Ali Kadal bridges. The mosque of Bulbul Shah is situated close to the Ali Kadal.
