Rarang is a village in
Kinnaur District of
Himachal Pradesh. This small village, high on the mountains, is a non smoking region. Rarang is also the business center of Tibet and Kinnaur. The most extensive pine-nut forests of Kinnaur are in Rarang Village. Rarang is famous for its temples and monasteries. The
Rarang Monastery is a newly built monastery.
The village is also the seat of two important personalities, Ga Rinpoche and Chogyam Rinpoche. The village square of Rarang has been built under the leadership of these two personalities. Rarang also treasures an imprint on a rock left by the great translator Rinchen Zangpo.
