Narkanda, at the height of 8,100 ft, is a hill station located on the Old Hindustan-Tibet Road (
National Highway 22), between the valleys of river
Sutlej and
Beas. A favorite destination of tourists who enjoy winter sports and panoramic views of the
Himalayas, the place is 65 km from
Shimla. At a distance of 8 km from Narkanda is
Hattu Peak. The peak is famous for skiing. Narkanda is doted with lakes, temples and deodar trees.
January to June is the ideal time to visit Narkanda.
