Naggar on the left bank of the
Beas River is a prominent town of
Kullu District in
Himachal Pradesh. Founded by Raja Visudhpal, it was the capital of Kullu for about 1,460 years until the capital was transferred to
Sultanpur by Jagat Singh. Several legends are associated with this town.
Naggar is a popular tourist spot, and offers the commanding views of the surroundings especially of the north-west of the valley. Splendid deodars, sanctified mountains, waterfalls and snow covered ranges encircle the town.
