Manikaran Hot Water Spring




Manikaran Hot Water Spring, which lies between Kasol and Brahma Ganga, is one of the landmarks of Kullu in Himachal Pradesh. It gushes out from the bottom of rocks. The temperature of the water varies from 88 degree to 94 degree Celsius.

Its high temperature is due to the presence of radium, and it was discovered by a German scientists. The water tastes good due to the presence of calcium carbonate.

The spring has therapeutic properties, and a regular dip in it is believed to cure gastric problems and rheumatic pains.
