The thickly wooded slopes of Mashobra are part of the Shimla Reserve Forest sanctuary and catchments area. This place is the habitat for jackals, kakkar (barking deer) and leopard, and variety of bird species such as the Himalayan eagle, pheasants, chikor and partridges.
