Kalga is a picturesque village situated near Manikaran in Kullu District. It lies at an elevation of 2,200 m, on the Pin Parvati Pass trek route in the Parvati Valley. Kalga is surrounded by dense pine forests. The entire region commands enchanting views of snowy peaks and deep valleys. River Parvati flows nearby. Pulga, Khirganga, Tunda Bhuj, Thakar Kuan, Barshani and Mantalai Lake are located nearby. It is an ideal base for trekking and mountaineering. Base camps are available. Farming orchards and growing vegetables are the main occupation of the people.
