Jalapa Mai Sangirathi Temple

Jalapa Mai Sangirathi Temple is a fascinating divine spot surrounded by small hillocks. Situated in the village of Sagirthin, about 14 km from Bilaspur on Bilaspur-Shimla road, the temple enshrines a black colored idol of Goddess Sangirathi.

The original name of the goddess is said to have been Sukirti, which in course of time changed into Sangirathi. It is believed that some Chandel King who was going to Mata Jwalamukhi through this road installed the idol of the goddess here and later, Raja Deep Chand built a temple for the same.

Beside the temple, there is a continuously flowing, natural source of water.

Nearest airport is at Shimla. Kiratpur Sahib Railway Station is the nearest railway station.
