Champavati Temple is an ancient stone temple, situated in
Chamba District,
Himachal Pradesh. This temple, built in
Shikhara style, is dedicated to Goddess
Mahishasuramardini, an incarnation of
Goddess Durga. The temple has been named after the daughter of Raja Sahil Verman – Champavati.
The temple has exquisite stone carvings adorning its lintel, pillars and wheel roof. The size of the temple is comparable to that of the Laxmi Narayan Temple.
The temple can be easily reached by bus from Chamba (3 km).
