Established in 1933, Saraswati Sugar Mills is situated in
Yamunanagar District,
Haryana. It is one of the two heavy industries in
Yamunanagar, of which the other is
Shree Gopal Paper Mills. Awarded ISO 14001 certification by Lloyd's Register, it is one of the biggest sugar mills in Asia. It has a cane crushing capacity of 12,500 tonnes per day. The plant is designed and operated in an eco-friendly manner and has state-of-the-art infrastructure. About 50,000 farmers from across 646 villages supply sugarcane to this sugar mill. Saraswati Sugar Mill uses sulphitation process for sugar manufacturing.
Yamunanagar is about 200 km north of New Delhi, the capital of India. The nearest international airport is Indira Gandhi International Airport and Yamunanagar Railway Station, on the Saharanpur-Kurukshetra rail route, is the nearest railway station.
