Yadavindra Gardens at
Pinjore was laid in Mughal style with seven descending terraced lawns at the foothills of the
Shivalik. This fascinating garden was laid by Nawab Fadai Khan in 17th century. It is based on classical 'Charbagh' pattern with a central waterway. Both sides of this waterway are bordered with lush green patches. The garden has arched balconies, an open air theater and three palaces, namely Sheesh Mahal (glass palace), Rang Mahal (painted palace) and Jal Mahal (water palace). After the demise of Nawab Fadai Khan, Maharaja Amar Singh of
Patiala took over the garden and beautified it. The garden has shady pathways, a mini zoo, a nursery of plants, a small Japanese garden and lighted fountains. The garden is a venue for
Baisakhi festival in April and Mango Festival in June and July.
