Kurukshetra Bus Station is on National Highway 1, popularly called the
Grand Trunk Road. The station lies 39 km north of
Karnal and 40 km south of
Ambala. Regular buses ply from
Kurukshetra to all major cities in
Haryana and the neighbouring states of
Delhi and
Punjab. Transport corporations of neighbouring states also run regular services to and from Kurukshetra city.
Kurukshetra Junction Railway Station is on the main Delhi-Ambala rail route of the Northern Railways. Chandigarh Airport is the nearest airport (91 km.)

Places of tourist interest in and around the city are Brahma Sarovar, Sri Krishna Museum, Sheikh Chehli Mausoleum and Sthaneshvara Mahadev Temple.
