Pushkara is a religious place situated at
Ponkar Kheri village, about 11 km south of
Jind, in
Haryana. It is believed that the place was founded by
Lord Parashuram, the legendry son of
Jamadagni. A popular belief among the devotees is that one who worships the gods and ancestors here is rewarded with the merit of Asvamedha sacrifice.
