Karma is a
Sanskrit term that stands for actions and their effects. It can be physical or mental action. Sanchita Karma (accumulated action), Prarabdha Karma (fructifying action) and Kriyamana Karma (current action) are three different kinds of karma. Positive actions are rewarded, whereas negative actions result in suffering. The philosophy of Karma also substantiates the theory of rebirth, by which a person is rewarded or punished in accordance with his actions. One is expected to understand the danger inherent in negative actions, and work towards achieving enlightenment with the aid of positive actions.
