Spot-billed Duck
Also called Grey Duck
Spot-billed Duck (Zoological name, Anas Poecilorhyncha) is similar to American Black Duck. It is 24" in length and the bill is black with yellow terminal band. The bird's white tertials are clearly visible in flight.
It is commonly seen in shallow freshwater lakes and marshes. The female lays 8-10 grayish-white eggs in the down-lined nest of grasses and rushes. The nest is placed on ground near water.
