Hansdehar is a small village situated in
Jind District,
Haryana. Major point of attraction here is a Shiva temple and the Bindusar Tirth.
The place is associated with Rishi Kardam who practiced penance here for many years. It was here his son Kapilamuni composed Sankhya Shastra.
It is believed that Lord Brahma visited the place to attend the marriage of Kardam Rishi on the back of a hans (goose). The name of the village is derived after the incident. It is also said that Pandavas offered pinds to their forefathers here.
Thousands of devotees visit the place on Somavati Amavas to take a holy dip in the Bindusar Tirth.
