Chaudhary Charan Singh Agricultural University, located in
Hissar District, was formerly known as Hissar Agricultural University. Initially a campus of Panjab Agricultural University in
Ludhiana, it became an independent institution in 1966, with the division of
Punjab and
Haryana.
It imparts education in the fields of agriculture, veterinary and animal sciences, agricultural engineering, home science and other allied sciences. The university has seven colleges and eight Krishi Vigyan Kendras.
