Yamunanagar District

Formerly known as Abdullapur



Yamunanagar District of Haryana was carved out from Ambala District. It covers an area of 1,768 sq km. The Yamuna flows through the eastern boundary. River Saraswati, Chutang, Rakshi, Somb, Boli are the other rivers that flow through this district.

Yamunanagar has a sub-tropical climate. Sugarcane, wheat and rice are the main crops. Yamunanagar is the main industrial town in the district, with large industries such as Gopal Paper Mills and Saraswati Sugar Mills (the biggest sugar mill in Asia). Jagadhri is another major city of the district. Dadupur, Bhudia, Kalesar Wildlife Sanctuary, Adibadri, Chaudhary Devi Lal Herbal Nature Park, Hathni Kund, and Tajewala Barrage are the main tourist attractions.
