Valsad District




Valsad District of Gujarat covers an area of 5,244 sq km. Orchard fuming and fishing are the main occupations of the people. The headquarters Valsad is famous for its handloom textiles, dyes, bricks, and pottery. Valsad mangoes, sapodilla, and teak are well known.

Places to visit are Atul, Billimoria, Dandi, Dharampur, Gandevi, Nargol, Paner, Sanjan, Tithal, Ubhrat, Udvada, and Unai. Dandi is a place connected with Gandhiji’s Salt Satyagraha movement. Salt making is still a major occupation. Sanjan is the place where the Parsis first landed in India. Navsari is an industrial town and is one of the major centers for the cutting and polishing of diamonds. Gandevi is well-known for its jaggery.
