Gujarat is said to have migrated from
Vrindavan, in
Uttar Pradesh. They are mainly found in the Kutch region and believe that they are the descendants of
Lord Krishna. Their dress is similar to that of the
Rabaris. Men are recognized by their peacock, parrot, and flower motifs joined with their khediyun and the women by their bright backless shirts. A thick bori cloth is also wrapped around the waist. They engage themselves in raising cattle, sheep, goat, and camels. Special occasions are celebrated with dance and songs. Mass marriages are performed according to their custom.
