Shri Taranga Teerth, the temple of Shri Ajitnath Bhagvan, is an ancient Jain temple situated on the
Taranga Hills in
Mehsana District of
Gujarat. It is located about 61 km from
Mehsana.
This temple, once belonged to King Kumarapala, has undergone renovation. Built during the Solanki period (11th-12th century), it is notable for its huge dimension and architecture. The temple has been built in an area of 230 sq ft. Keghat woods (fire-proof wood) were used along with stones for the construction work.
The temple complex has 14 temples of which 9 belong to shwetambar and 5 to Digambar sects. At a distance of one kilometer from the teerth, there is a sacred place called Kotisheela on the Taranga Hills.
