Morbi is a taluk headquarters situated on the banks of the Machchhu River, in
Rajkot District of
Gujarat. It was the erstwhile capital of the former princely state of Morbi and was ruled by the Jadeja Rajput clan. Morbi is 63 km north of
Rajkot, the district headquarters.
Morbi is famous for clock, pottery and glazed tiles industries. Major point of attraction is the Mani Mandir, Wellingdon Secretariat, Suspension Bridge and Art Deco.
Rajkot Airport serves Morbi. Wankaner Junction Railway Station is the nearest railhead (26 km). National Highway 8A passes through Morbi. By road, the place is well linked with Tankara, Jodia, Wankaner, Gondal and Jamnagar.
