Punareshwar is a village located in
Kutch District of
Gujarat. It is around 35 km from
Bhuj.
Punareshwar is famous for the 10th century shrine, Solanki Temple, noted for its fine architecture. Kakkadbhit Yaksha, a memorial of Yaksha or Jakhs on a small hillock, is a few kilometers away from Punareshwar. The 72 idols here are dedicated to those who are believed to have come from Iran. Scholars opine that they were the first batch of Parsi migrants who reached Jakhau following a shipwreck.
The convenient railhead to Punareshwar is New Bhuj Railway Station. Buses ply constantly from Bhuj Bus Station to this destination.
