Neminath Temple is a Jain temple situated at the
Girnar Hill in
Junagadh District of
Gujarat. Girnar Hill is about 5 km east of
Junagadh, one of the most picturesque towns in India.
The temple is dedicated to the 22nd Tirthankar, Neminath. The construction of this rectangular temple was started in 1128 AD and completed in 1159 AD. The temple enshrines a black figure of Lord Neminath, dwelling in lotus, with a conch.
A spacious courtyard with delicate carvings of the tirthankars of Jainism surrounds the temple. From the top of the temple one can have a great view of the surrounding area of the mountain.
Amba Mata Temple and a Muslim shrine are nearby attractions. Neminath Temple is connected by frequent buses from Junagadh.
