Kunbi is a Christian tribe inhabiting some parts of
Goa. The members of this tribe strictly adhere to their customs and traditions. They belong to a race called Scytho-Dravidian and are of fairer complexion compared to people of pure Dravidian ancestry.
The Kunbi people marry within their tribe. They are strictly vegetarian, refusing to share food with any non-vegetarian person. They highly regard their traditional music and dance and they still maintain the dance and customs of their pre-Christian days. Their indigenous dance is the Kunbi Dance. Zagor, their folk theatre form, starts with a special prayer to an invisible goddess named Manacha Deo.
