Khambat




Khambat is a town situated on the bank of the Bay of Cambay, 80 km away from Vadodara in Anand District. It is a major trading center whose industries include textile weaving, carpet-making, petroleum, and manufacturing salt and stone ornaments. This place was once a great port under the Muslim rulers of Gujarat, during 14th–15th centuries. The town is also famous for a Jain temple of Shri Parshwanaha Bhagwan. The nearest airports are at Vadodara and Ahmedabad.
