Jama Masjid, one of the most beautiful mosques in the country, was built in 1423 by Ahmed Shah in the Indo-Saracenic style. 260 columns support the roof of the building. The natural light, which is reflected into the building by the external roofs, illuminates the dome of the mosque. The attractive stonework of the Muluk-Khana or the Royal Gallery, a platform standing on pillars, has been much admired over the years.
