Hatheesingh Jain Temple




Hatheesing Jain Temple is one of the most ornate Jain temples situated outside Delhi Gate, in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. It was built in 1850 by Sheth Hatheesing, a rich Jain merchant. The temple is dedicated to Dharamnath, the 15th Jain tirthankar.

Hatheesing Jain Temple, built in pure white marble, has a paved courtyard surrounded by an imposing row of cloisters comprising 52 shrines, each with an image of a tirthankar. Rich carvings adorn its walls. This two storied structure has elaborate porches on its three sides and the front porch is crowned by a huge dome.

Hatheesingh Jain Temple can be easily accessed from Ahmedabad Junction Railway Station.
