Keri village, also known as Kakan Keri, is in
Ponda taluk of
North Goa District. It lies on the banks of the Terekhol River, about 76 km from
Panaji.
The place is a seat of Ayurveda, Indian classical music and glass bangles industry. Kesarbai Kerkar who lived here was one of the most popular and gifted singers during her period. Baskets made in Keri from bamboo in diverse sizes and shapes are very famed in Goa.
The main attractions are Parvati Madhav Plants Park, Laterite Stone Mine, Santeri Temple and Sri Vijayadurga Temple.
Nearest airport is Goa Airport. The site is easily approachable by bus from Panaji.
