Agonda is a small traditional fishing village in the
Canacona taluk,
Goa. It is a picturesque place surrounded by about 120 acres of forests with high hills on the south. This village lies on route to
Panaji from
Palolem, the nearest beach.
Agonda Beach and a 300 year old church are the some of the main tourist attractions of the village. The fort Cabo de Rama, the
place where
Lord Ram, the king of Ayodhya, stayed with his wife Sita during the 14 year exile is situated here.
The nearest railway station is 37 km away at Margao and the airport is at
Dabolim.
