Sonipat, the administrative headquarters of
Sonipat District, is a historic town situated at the foot of a small hill, in
Haryana. It is a major industrial center in the district. It is the leading manufacturer of cycles in the state. Sonipat is 51 km north of
New Delhi.
Sonipat’s origin dates back to the time of early Aryan settlements in the country. References about this town had been found in the epic of Mahabharata .
Places of tourist interest include the mosque of Abdullah Nasir-ud-din, the tomb of Khawaja Khizar and Dargah Mamu Bhaanza. Excursions to Rohtak and Jind will be an exciting experience.

Sonipat Railway Station is on the
Ambala-New Delhi railway line and has regular trains to New Delhi,
Panipat, Rohtak, Chandigarh and
