It is also called the Palace of colors or the Painted Palace. It was once the residence of the emperor's chief wife, where the emperor had his meal. The Mahal is beautifully adorned with elaborate paintings. The stream, which flew through the palace ended here in a lotus-shaped central pool (carved in marble) with an ivory fountain in the center.
