Naubat Khana is the drum house situated at end of the Chatta Chowk in
Red Fort, in
Delhi. Musicians used to play for the emperor from this chamber. The arrival of princes and royalty was heralded from here. It also functioned as a gatehouse (Hathi Pol) where the visiting dignitaries had to leave their horses and elephants.
The main attraction of this four floored drum house is the red sandstone walls, which are beautifully adorned with floral designs painted in gold. The Indian War Memorial Museum is situated just above the Naubat Khana.
