Kashmiri Shawls

Kashmiri Shawls have a unique place among Kashmir textiles due to its peculiar charm. These shawls depict images related to architecture and mythology, interwoven with landscapes.

Made from the wool derived from the Kel goat found in the Himalayas, the shawls are renowned for their softness and colored patterns. These luxury shawls are woven on traditional throw and catch looms by hand. It normally takes 4 to 11 months to complete the embroidery on the shawls.

Pashimina, this fabric, takes two forms of the loom - the loom shawl (entirely woven on the loom) and the embroidered shawl. Jamavar Shawl is a famous variety of Kashmiri Shawls, originating from Jammu and Kashmir.
