Tuman is a small village situated about 23 km north-west of Katghora, in
Korba District of
Chhattisgarh. It was the first capital when the Haihai or Kalchuri Kings came to Chhattisgarh for the maiden time. The place got great archeological importance owing to the fifteen ruins of beautifully sculptured and intricate stones, mainly of ancient temples.
Several images of Lord Brahma, Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva are found in the ruins of the temples. The main temple features intricate carvings of Dashavatar - the ten incarnations of Vishnu - Goddess Ganga and Goddess Yamuna. The carvings resembles in style with the temples of Pali and Janjgir.
Jatashankari River flows nearby; on its banks is a heap of damaged ruins - probably the Satkhanda Mahal, the erstwhile palace of Haihai Kings.
